One of our most popular workshops, this is a beginners workshop where we look at sewing machine basics and create a simple project for you to take home. You can bring your own machine to become more familiar with it, or use one of ours. All materials will be included. A fabulous way to learn a skill.
A follow on from our Introduction to Machine Sewing workshop where we will create an envelope cushion cover. We will use straight line stitching as well as zig-zag stitching to finish off your seams. You can bring your own machine to become more familiar with it, or use one of ours. All materials will be included.
A follow on from our "Introduction to Machine Sewing" or "Make an Envelope Cushion" workshops - we will create a zippered make up bag with boxed corners. You will learn to insert a zipper, how to add lining, create corners as well as using various stitching methods to create a beautiful bag to take home. You can bring your own machine to become more familiar with it, or use one of ours. Basic sewing skills are needed for this class. All materials will be included.

What a great way to create a unique clutch to match your latest outfit! Perfect for carrying your lipstick and cash for a great night out. You will need to have a little experience of using a sewing machine (being able to sew in a straight line) – if you are not there yet you can brush up your skills with our Introduction to Machine Sewing or Envelope Cushion workshops.
Materials Included:
Metal snap frame and interfacing. We will have a supply of recyclable fabric which you are welcome to use. However, if you wish to bring your own fabric to match an outfit you will need two pieces of cotton fabric measuring approximately 42cm wide x 38cm high for the outer part of the bag and the same quantity and measurement for the lining of the bag. Learn a skill!
Want to learn a skill and make some comfy PJs? You can make a lovely pair of PJ / slouch pants either for yourself or someone else while learning a variety of sewing techniques.
You do need to know how to use a sewing machine or have completed our Introduction to Machine Sewing or Envelope Cushion workshops. Please confirm by email prior to the class what size of pyjamas you wish to make i.e. for yourself, a child etc... Pattern size 8-18.
In the session we will cover:
Taking measurements, reading the pattern, cutting out the fabric using a pattern, hemming and inserting elastic.
You will need to bring with you:
2.5m of 115cm wide or 2m of 140cm wide soft breathable fabric (cotton or fleece), 1m of matching ribbon / draw string and 1m of 1inch wide elastic.
Learn a skill -In a relaxed environment we will show you how to get started. You will learn simple crochet techniques including three basic crochet stitches to help you complete a Granny Square.

Learn a Skill - Follow on Crochet
Now that you have perfected the Granny Square in our taster workshops and have lots of them we will show you how to put them all together. We will cover two methods to join the squares together as well as two decorative edging techniques.
You will need to bring with you 8 completed Granny Squares, each approximately 10cm square. We will provide yarn, however, if you have a colour scheme that you are working to feel free to bring along a matching yarn. We will provide you with instructions on all stitches covered in the class to take home.Maximum class size 4.
As one of our most popular workshops, you will learn how to make a 30cm drum lampshade which you will be able to take home to hang from the ceiling or place it on a lamp-stand.
Once you have learnt these skills you will want to create new lighting throughout your home. Suitable for complete beginners; No sewing required. All materials included.

Learn to create a fabulous macrame plant hanger to decorate your home. Once you have tried this you'll be hooked! All materials provided and you get to take a lovely plant hanger home with you. Great for a gift or just keep for yourself!

Held over two workshops.
During the first sessions you will learn to thread your overlocker, and to sew with different fabrics, looking at tension and rolled hems. We will then cut out our pattern and fabric ready to make a fun jersey dress.
In week two we will start to sew using the overlocker to create a ready to wear dress in just a few hours!
To join this class you will need to be a confident sewer having either attended one of our sewing courses or have completed dressmaking projects e.g. making a skirt/dress in cotton or similar materials and being familiar with basic dressmaking terms.
You will need to bring with you your overlocker (and manual) and 2.5m of knitted fabric - Ponte di Roma recommended. Patterns will be provided for sizes 8-20 (please feel free to contact us if you wish to discuss sizing). If you have attended one of our sewing workshops or just keen to learn a skill, this could be your next step. This is a 3 session course in which you will create a patchwork lap quilt. We will cover measuring, pinning and rotary cutting. You will also learn to create your patchwork top and how to layer it to create your quilt. We provide sewing machines, but if you have one of your own you'd like to practice with please bring that along. You will need to bring with fabric and wadding. Details will be sent out prior to the first class.

During this interactive course you will be learn the basic principles of dressmaking including measuring, understanding pattern cutting, choosing fabric and haberdashery before completing your own project. Basic sewing machine skills required. Machines are provided or you can bring your own machine to practice with. You will need to purchase fabric but not needed until the second session.
